Question / Help 2 PC Recording with OBS/HD60 Pro

I'm brand new to all this, so please bear with me.

I have a dual PC setup in hopes of creating gameplay videos for YouTube and eventually streaming. However, I ran into an issue with my set up in regards to audio. First, the relevant details:

1080 Ti SLI on gaming PC connected to a 1440p/144Hz monitor via DisplayPort
1080 Ti SLI on gaming PC connected to Elgato HD60 Pro on 2nd PC via HDMI

When I try to make recordings, the gameplay video is recorded, but there's no game sound. I'm assuming because Windows only drives audio through one device, in this case the DP cable to the monitor. Is there a way keep using the DP cable to my monitor (only way I can game at 1440p/144hz) while simultaneously pushing sound through the HDMI cable to the HD60 Pro?

Can't really take a picture since they're under my desk, but here's a rudimentary diagram.

If your audio hardware on the gaming PC provides some type of recording device like What U Hear (Creative) or Stereo Mix (Realtek) you can use that. Go to the device in the recording tab of the Windows sound control panel, right-click it > Properties > Listen tab, and send a copy of the audio to the Elgato which should be listed as a playback device.

Hi Sapiens. I tried that but there's no audio being picked up by Stereo Mix.

I see you have Elgato Sound Capture installed, it and does exactly what you want.

Open Elgato Sound Capture, set the mode to PC recording, set output 1 to your headphones, output 2 to the Elgato device over HDMI and you should be good to go.
