Question / Help 2 OBS Instances capturing the same game

Hello all!

So I have 2 OBS instances running (using the "-multi" for the .exe shortcut").

Is it possible to capture the same game at the same time? For example I was trying to stream Rocket League to both Twitch and YouTube Gaming at the same time.

What happened was the first instance showed fine, but the second instance (when selecting the same game source) showed a black screen.

Is this because once OBS locks into one game capture, it's not possible for another instance to capture the same source?

Thank you, let me know if you have any solutions in for one pc. If not I'll look into multiple-pc or capture card solutions.

Don't think you can "hook" with game capture more than once. For the second stream you'd have to use something else like monitor or window capture. I think the nginx solution is better, as then you only encode it once, as long as you don't mind streaming the same settings to YT and Twitch that is.

You should also check the multiplatform edition. I thought I read something about improvements on this front (game capturing more than once). Maybe I misread though.

Or you can use Restream.io if you like. Your Stream goes to Restream and Restream is stream this Signal to any Server u want and they are offer.
