Question / Help 2 IP cams into one splitscreen file

Hi everyone!

I hope someone can help me with my question. I have two IP cameras and looking for some software that could capture the two streams and record them into one file with the videos side by side. I don't need to stream the video although it could be a nice feature in the future for me.

The cameras can each output 1080p, but I will probably go with a lower resolution, since I'm not sure if OBS and my hardware is capable of recording a resolution of 3840x1080 pixels.

Is OBS capable of doing what i need?

Well you need to find a way to get the IP cameras into OBS. We currently have no feature built in for those. But for example if you could playback their input with VLC you can easily capture that with OBS and combine both side by side, or however you want. 3840x1080 would also be no problem for OBS in general, that depends more on your hardware and your setup.
