Hello everyone,
I have this issue for some time now and I've tried everything I can think of. Here's the issue.
I want to stream at 1080p60@slow preset. Actually I was streaming using this settings with no issues at all with a custom command "threads=80".(I know it's not ideal but I can't make cpu to go above 50% if I don't do that.) However it changed after some OBS or Win update I couldn't tell. Now I'm getting encoding overload no matter I try to stream with slow or medium at 1080p60. Xsplit encodes perfectly well at the same 1080p60 slow preset. I can also stream perfectly fine at 900p60@slow preset with a lot of custom commands from slower presets which makes it much more demanding than 1080p60 slow.
When I stream 900p60 with my much more demanding settings, CPU goes up to 100% as it should if it's necessary. When I try 1080p60 it never goes above 50-60%. Tried different threads=x options but it never worked out.
Please don't tell me to use faster presets. 1950x is perfectly capable to stream 1080p60@slow and it actually does in xsplit and it was also working fine with OBS few month ago. Now I get encoding overload no matter I use fast-medium or slow preset with 1080p60. Makes no sense at all.
This is a dedicated streaming PC. Using quad channel memory. I've tried turning of SMT from bios, tried different threads=x settings, nothing fixed my issue. Tried 2950x, motherboard also changed. None of these fixes the issue.
Attached logs from 1080p60 slow with threads=80 option / 1080p60 medium preset / 900p60 slow with custom settings.
