hey there i have been messing around with OBS recording settings for a few days now and i am at my wits end. for some reason no matter what setting/settings i choose nothing i record comes out even slightly sharp and looks abit blurry. i've thought maybe it could be the fact i only have a 1660 super but i've seen recordings people have done with theirs and their recordings look alot better and i have no clue as to why.

This is the most recent log: https://obsproject.com/logs/pulcTR50toAVpiu2

Here are also a few pictures to show my settings and if you see something off then i would be glad to know.

Uncheck Visual Tuning, Set B Frames to 0 & lower the CQ level, try 15-18. The recording will be 2x-4x larger but will look much better.
ok just tried it and did a side by side and the quality is the exact same as before the changes.. which makes no sense to me

Yep, you should see a noticeable difference in quality. I'm still going through your log, try setting the refresh rate of your main monitor to 120 instead of 144, see if that helps clear the picture.

just did as you asked and also re-recorded and still the same.. it's like no matter what setting i touch nothing ever changes and if it does then it's so minuscule that it doesn't matter.. hell i even messed with cbr mode yesterday and i went from 6k bitrate to 60k and still the same effect. the recording looks like i recorded it in 720p for whatever reason

This scene needs to be addressed, only (1) Game/Window/Display Capture per Scene.

- scene 'Main Scene':
05:19:00.154: - source: '(---CAPTURE---)' (group)
05:19:00.154: - source: 'Microphone' (wasapi_input_capture)
05:19:00.154: - source: 'Spotify' (window_capture)
05:19:00.154: - source: 'Youtube' (window_capture)
05:19:00.154: - source: 'Fullscreen Capture' (game_capture)

I don't use SE so no comment there. You also have audio lagging, not sure what's causing it but it could be an indication that your system is getting overloaded.

ok i deleted them and still same problem. i recorded using nvidia shadowplay and that recording actually looks like 1080p and looks sharp so really boggles my mind as to why obs doesnt do the same

yeah for some reason it pops that up randomly even though all of my stats on obs says otherwise and it goes away in the logs whenever i restart obs even if i use it for hours after

and it wouldnt make any sense for there to be any load when all i have been doing for my recordings was checking menus on random lower end games to see how clear they are and that i am seeing only 720p like quality whereas nvidia shadowplay gives me 1080p

I noticed on the recording tab that you have the Audio Encoder set as "use stream encoder". Set the AAC encoder for the recording, that might clear up the audio lag.

it's because i change them back and forth from what you told me to set them to and to what i had originally to see any differences.
