Question / Help 125fps in game without obs open. 90fps just by openeing it.

It's actually worse than that.

If I open the obs window on my second monitor the fps of my game (The Division 2) goes from 125fps to 40.
Constant 40. Not 41, not 39. 40.
Disabling preview increases fps, so does minimizing it, so does moving the window to the same monitor as my game.
But the game's fps never goes above 95. It actually is about 90 all the time.
If I stream, nomatter if I'm doing 60fps 3440 1440 to youtube, or 1/4 scale to twitch, it hovers around 90fps.

Something is weird. The fps of the game shouldn't go down so much just because I open the obs program.

Anyone able to help?
Anyone want me to provide anything?

For all 3 of them?

If not, then you're running into the windows 10 limitation of having multiple non-synchronized monitors connected to the same GPU, having hardware accelerated windows running on each.

Use game capture instead of display capture and retest.

All monitors have that same refresh rate?

Using game capture instead of display capture helped a lot.

Without OBS open, I get between 90-100 fps, with it often being at 100fps. I would go into The Division 2, find a place, and then run for a couple of seconds, do a 180, and run for a couple of seconds, and repeat.

Without OBS 90-100fps with it often being close to 100fps.
With OBS with display capture 70-80fps
With OBS with game capture 90-100fps, but instead of it often being around 100fps, It was much closer to 90fps.

So, that was a definite improvement. Thanks.

Also, no, not all monitors have the same refresh rate. My left monitor has 165hz, my right monitor has 60hz, and my center monitor has 100hz.
