Hello,
I'm currently trying to figure out what is the best to record 1080p 60fps local recording. I'm using OBS recommended streaming settings for streaming, and I've made a contraption of random settings which I found by THOROUGH googling.
I've heard lots of good and bad things about OBS and Nvidia Experience's Shadowplay.
I'm here to ask for the CORRECT settings for local recording, which display the FPS I want to record in without frame loss or frame skips since I need to edit it in Sony Vegas, or send it to my editor who NEEDS quality recordings.
I've tried the encoding presets and such, but I'm afraid my hardware has a part to play when it comes to editing, and I need handcrafted settings to work for me.
I'd like to hear if there's better options than OBS, I'm really not interested in OBS studio since I also stream from time to time, so I'd like for this to work.
Hardware specs are;
(Bad graphics card, 1060-1070 upgrade comming soon, so say I'll play on a 1070.)
i5-4670k, CPU.
16gb RAM.
(NOTE: My CPU currently has a stock cooler and stock thermal paste, so if the heat plays a part, let me know. It's currently at 60-65 degrees peak, and I'm going to change thermal paste soon and or buy a new cooler as well.)
I like to think that the settings I have are useless to state, but if necessary I'll provide it. The games I record are relatively old games that're made in early to mid 2000's with no hardware impact.
Surely there's other threads for this, and I don't mind being pointed in that direction, although I'm afraid to recieve replies that include "Go here" and it won't work, and my thread becomes ancient. If anything I'm up to discuss anything I'm linked to till it works since I've tried googling.
I hope to see people help me find solid settings since people that make youtube videos on this matter say "Set this, idk why" which is to no help, + people that need this kind of help, never got any help or didn't have the same problem like me.
Again, thanks in advance, any information will be provided if necessary, thank you.
