Question / Help 100% usage when streaming & Playing BF4/COD GHOSTS

Well, your CPU doesn't seem to be having a hard time with the stream.. have you tried enabling v-sync or limiting the fps in the game? Are you also watching your stream on the same computer?

i dont have another computer & i dont watch my stream from the browser, i tried vsync i get 80+ fps when streaming and playing low graphics on bf4 it just worries me about constant 100%

Shouldn't really be a problem as long as it's not overheating.. The good news is that If you can afford dedicating a little more bitrate to your stream you can try enabling quicksync which will basically make your IGPU handle all the encoding which means OBS would only take a little to none of the CPU time.

i mean im at 3000 now, it doesn't at all i just stream out of peak hours overwise it will aha, thanks for the help! :)

also one last thing, i know this is related to OBS but i get less usage when im not overclocked :/ would you know why i get alot more usage when i am overclocked

No problem, you'll need water cooling to overclock your cpu without running into throttling problems.

i have EVGA ACX cooler it stays stable at 4.5ghz im new to oc and i thought i would do it to decrease usage but nothing happens

The EVGA ACX cooler is for your graphics card. What kind of cooling are you using for your CPU?

The EVGA ACX cooler isnt for your graphics card as this is sitting on my i7 4770k with socket 1150 :/

Er, Google for it, man. Only results for EVGA ACX is a graphics card cooler. Also, far as I know EVGA doesn't make CPU coolers... they make nVidia graphics cards, and re-brand Jetway/Foxconn motherboards.

I'd also say that 3500kbps is MASSIVE overkill for 720p, even at 60fps. It may be enough to overcome the Quicksync quality drop though.

Really, the biggest problem is that BF4 is VERY poorly optimized (EA producing crap code? Say it ain't so!) and will decimate almost any current-day system as a result. If you have proper cooling, running at 100% CPU utilization isn't an issue. It's not optimal, but when you're dealing with poor code, sometimes there isn't any other option. If you need absolute top-notch no-holds-barred performance, you need to go to a two-system casting rig (one gaming, one encoding).

I'd also be a bit leery about any overclocked systems behaving oddly. Many current-day 'experts' just use a 'throw everything and see what sticks' approach, instead of proper methodology. The down side to automatic thermal shutdowns... sure, it'll save a CPU from some types of bad overclock. But it encourages people to just 'do whatever', having that safety net there, and just leads to sloppy, lazy results that act weird and shorten system overall longevity.
