I'm think it would be great idea for 1920x1080 streamers to have an option between 1080 and 720 because 720p after uploading to youtube looks average BUT when you upload anything bigger than 720p youtube encodes it to 1080 and somehow it looks MUCH better.
I believe this is a mathematical limitation of the scaling algorithm, but I don't know if there is another scaling algorithm that results in comparable visual fidelity and can scale in arbitrary increments with reasonable speed.
