Hi, run into a fun problem after updating OBS to 0.55b. Every game I have tried with this latest version of OBS crashes as soon as I begin streaming, or try to preview. I'm going to try re-installing OBS from scratch to see if that helps. If not, I'll go back to the previous version.

EDIT: Uninstalling and removing OBS data didn't fix things, so I went back to version 0.542b.

As an intermediate solution, you may consider just grabbing test build 0.54.08, which has quite a few of the tweaks and fixes in between 0.542b and 0.55b. Oddly enough, .09 (and I suspect 0.55b as well) do crash some titles for me as well.

Which games are "all your games"? Can you list some examples?

Re: 0.55b all my games crash

I tested a handful of my games until a pattern became obvious. All D3D9 games I tried, including Halo, CS:GO, Alan Wake's American Nightmare, Borderlands 2, Fallout: New Vegas and Resident Evil 6 all crashed as soon as I began streaming or previewing. Bioshock Infinite (D3D10+), and OpenGL games Amnesia, Doom 3 and Half-Life seem to work fine. A few of the games offer to run with either D3D9 or 10 graphics, like Resident Evil 5 and Devil May Cry 4. Those worked in D3D10 mode but crashed instantly in D3D9 mode with OBS v0.55b. So I guess it has something to do with D3D9. I was excited to see if the changes would allow me to Stream my D3D6 and D3D8 games, but they still yield just a black screen.

Okay, get on IRC when you have a chance and let's bisect to find the faulty commit then. Please someone who's crashing on d3d9 games just do this for me and endure the debugging so I can get it fixed if possible, I will marry you and have your children.

Private message me and say my name. Please help me get this fixed if you have time.

... *finds a DX9 title*

Edit: ... that actually crashes. Because, Dota 2 (also DX9 as far as I know) runs just fine in 0.55b.

Hey so how did you guys fix it? I have the same issue with mine. Ever since I updated I can not use OBS and it crashes the program I am using like League of Legends or NFS World... Or any Steam Game.

Where do I find previous versions also?

It's fixed in the next build -- I'm trying to release the build right now (0.551) but I'm waiting on someone to check out the files with norton
