If you had everything set up and working, as of right now that should not have changed. You just won't be able to create new text sources with the old system.
In time it is entirely possible that the new text source will allow gradient colours, particularly if enough people want it. In the mean time, there are a few options.
- Do without.
- Learn how to use the filters to create the same effect. As the filters can be used, and useful, on every source, that's probably a worthwhile thing to know.
- Go back to a prior version.
OK, if you don't know how to use image editors to do stuff, there are web sites which will generate colour gradients for you. e.g. http://gradcolor.com/
Here's what I just did:

- Generate a gradient from gradcolor.com, with two colours, about the height of the text you want to use (I used 80px) and save it to disk.
- In OBS Studio, add a new Text (GDI +) source, leaving the text white.
- Right click the newly-added source, select "Filters"
- Click the "+" button at the bottom of the filters list, select "Image Mask/Blend"
- In the filter properties, change the Type to "Blend (Multiply)"
- In the Path, browse to the downloaded gradient from earlier.
I could go into detail about why Multiply does this, but the important facts are, white text, use Multiply.
