bad contrast

Here's my issue: I'm recording from a HI8 (8mm) camera to digital converter (the cheap USB 2.0 one from Amazon). I'm not sure if this is an issue with OBS or not, but when I record something it looks fine but once I try to transfer the clip over to my phone it's super dark. I've tried transferring the clips in all different ways to my phone and they are always dark. This community is my last hope, haha.
