Updating from an older version?​

Smart Lower Thirds no longer uses a built-in local webserver and no longer supports scene binding. The overlay is now loaded as a local file in an OBS Browser Source, and lower thirds are triggered via dock controls, hotkeys, or timed automation.

Migration checklist: replace any http://127.0.0.1:.... URLs, update templates to the new placeholders, and review the install steps in the video below. Make sure to clear obs studio cache related to smart lower thirds plugin so you have a clean reinstall. cached files in windows are usually under %appdata% roaming -> obs-studio

This plugin is built for streamers, event hosts, educators, podcasters, and professional studios who want clean, animated, and reliable lower thirds that integrate directly into OBS.

Note: This plugin has currently only been tested on OBS Studio 32.0.2 (Windows 11, 64-bit). The macOS and Linux builds were generated through GitHub Actions, so I cannot guarantee that everything will run smoothly on those platforms.
