Zoom window capture resizing itself

I am teaching online woodworking classes via Zoom, with a guest. As seen in the above image, I have been pinning my guest in the zoom window, bringing a window capture of my guest's video into OBS and putting a white color source between my video feed and the guest's window capture to create a white border around the guest's video. Then I send the image back to Zoom. I get a little video delay as a result, but I have decided to live with it. (please ignore the vimeo play bar in the above image - I took a screenshot of the recording, which is on Vimeo)

My issue is that the guest's video capture keeps resizing/proportioning itself. This happened once during a show, but mostly in between shows. I have tried various transform options on the guest's window capture, but nothing sticks yet (the following is one where I was trying to crop it to a 3x4 ratio, with the image in the top right corner of the screen):

My questions are:
1. How do I keep the guest's video size stable?
2. Is there a better way to achieve a guest picture-in-picture?
3. I just heard of obs.ninja. Should I be using that instead of taking a zoom window capture and sending the image back to zoom again?
