Question / Help Zoom H4n usb to OBS poor audio Mac OS High Sierra

hi,
I am running OBS 24.0.6 on an iMac mid-2011 (High Sierra). I have usb 2.0 ports, connected to my Zoom H4n for audio voice recording input.
When I record, the voice seems slightly sped up, and there is annoying popping. This same configuration works perfectly with audacity.
Is there something I need to configure any different on OBS? I configured the audio input through settings and selected the H4 audio input. The recording levels look good. Can't figure out why the audio is recording and all messed up.
Any thoughts?
Thank you.

Check that OBS and your h4n are set to the same sample rate.

Check OBS in Settings > Audio.

Check the Zoom in the Audio MIDI Setup app in Applications/Utilities.

If these are mismatched you may get problems including pitch shifts.

When setting the H4n USB audio I/F, toggle the frequency to 48 kHz instead of 44.1. The lower frequency gives you the Mickey Mouse voice.
