zoom audio feeds into output while recording

I want to record a teaching session including my students. To be able to do this I have to set Audio Output Capture audio monitoring to (Monitor and Output) as recording will include only audio going to output. The problem is that the students hear themselves.

I tried to save a separate audio track but for some reason can not create the files for different audio tracks, I tried everything like using mkv as suggested, options > Output > advance > tracks > so on..

I am using audio monitoring as a way of individually control my microphones in different scenes and wondering if there is something to do with it?

I use Audio Monitor plugin and loopback but that does not fix the problem. No matter what routing you do, to be able to record a video with the students voice you need Audio Output source to be ( monitored and Output) then whats happen is that it feeds into the sound is being sent so the students can hear their voice coming back.

So the problem is that OBS only records Sound being sent to the output.

I tried to record in a separate track but didn't create the file..maybe a problem on MAC or the audio monitoring plugin doing something...

OBS records tracks your selected.

Your case is a bit complicated. If you like to have more detailed guidance, you better share your detailed information.

I believe that it is doable.

I think that you need to use a second virtual sound card. For example if you use Blackhole as the input to Zoom then you need to select Loopback or VB-Cable in the output from Zoom. Also AFAIK audio conferencing software output does not contain its own input.

OK, thanks for all the help. I fix it.

The problem was:

1) Lack of OBS knowledge as I expected a separated file for the audio track... when I found the audio track were inside the video file I did test all configurations again and found a working one.

2) configuration of Audio Output Capture (Monitored and Output), only track 3 selected, and used Audio monitor plugin to set track 3 to Output none.

This way I can record the audio from the zoom audience and the audio does not go back to them.

Really happy now
