YUV Color Space: Full or Partial

My recordings appear darker than I viewed them on screen and highlights are burnt out.

YUV Color Space: 709
YUV Color Range: Full

Can this be responsible? I thought that FULL would give me a better range of colours and stop any colour banding. I am recording in Firefox. I tried Chrome but it seemed to play videos with excessive sharpening showing up compression artifacts. Edge also was terrible.

Obviously I can increase the brightness when viewing them in VLC but the obviously the highlights look even more burnt out.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Cheers

Many thanks

I am only using OBS to record ITV shows in Firefox.

My limited understanding is this correct? Does recording ITV shows in Firefox only use Partial and FULL would only be used for graphics intensive games?

Using X264 which uses my CPU, by dropping the YUV to partial does this mean that you have decreased cpu use and can increase CRF values for better quality utilising this?

Play test videos from the guide and compare them to the reference png images to know if your setup is not bugged in the playback.
