Youtube video livestream

Hi everyone,

I/We are completely new to using OBS. We have downloaded and installed the software and successfully connected it to our YouTube channel. What we want to do is stream a 4K video that we have on our YouTube channel.

Under "Source," we select "Browser" and paste the link there. We have tried pasting both the specific video link and a playlist, but OBS only manages to play the first 2 seconds of the video. See the attached images from OBS.

What are we doing wrong?

We want to play this video in a loop and display it in full-screen 4K.

We would really appreciate your help!

You're probably not going to get an answer for that directly. Even though you own this one and anything you do with it is okay, the exact same instructions will work just as well to steal someone else's content. We're not going to help people do that.

If you have the original file, put it in a Media source instead. Forget the browser. That's the standard answer for people who want to use someone else's content too: ask for permission *and* the original file, and use the file.

Hi,

Thanks for your reply. In this case we want to stream our own videos we have on our own channel. This what not a question about steeling someone else’s content! But I get your point.

Ofc we can play our content from a local file but since the feature ”web browser” was there we thought that would might to work to stream directly from our channel that’s connected to OBS.

Like I said, you're fine. But this is a *public* forum. Other people read it too...

The browser source is not actually as useful as it may seem at first. It's essentially a pared-down version of Chromium. I use it to get a phone camera into OBS, from an app on the phone. Others use it for an easily-modified scoreboard. Etc. But see first if there's a specific source that directly does what you want, with a local file. Always use a local file if you can.
