YouTube streaming delay 30 sec

what about it?
is a delay/lag from real-time action to encoding on PC, sending old-format H.264 video to a CDN (YouTube in this case), video re-encoding, video distribution to CDN endpoints, then video distribution to client devices, of 30 seconds normal/reasonable for a free service? Yes. totally within normal. anywhere from 10/15 seconds to over a minute would be 'normal'.
And don't be surprised with significant difference between ISPs and device types (I've seen cable modem connected PCs getting stream MUCH quicker than mobile devices via cellular network.... however, ymmv, and actual experience will vary from stream to stream... basically.. it depends [lots of prior threads on some of the factors impacting that delay at that time. those factors themselves can change over time
