The author created a script that works via TamperMonkey (Chrome) or GreaseMonkey (Firefox):

It works. However, using this with Chrome or Firefox for a few hours would increase memory usage. I would like it to be more of a lightweight stand-alone application that doesn't run off a web browser. If possible, maybe an option to limit the chat history so it doesn't use up so much memory.
I'm not a web developer so I'm not sure if what I'm asking is practical, ideal or makes any sense at all :P
