I am using OBS in linux (mint 18.1 with kde) to stream X-Plane 10. I would like to have some visual effects when using the mouse. The only good option for kde I found was the plasma desktop effects, however in order to capture X-Plane and have the mouse effects I have to use XSHM screen capture. If I use X-System for capture the mouse effects are not visible. Unfortunately with making the capture visible in obs leads immediately to frame rate drop of about 10 fps (which for X-Plane is much since the simulator normally runs for me at about 40-50 fps). Using X-System does not effect the frame rate. And this is before starting to stream or record.
Any ideas how to make the mouse effects work without compromising the frame rate?
