want to start, or at least try, livestreaming. My Internet is not the best but I had quite seen some examples of people livestreaming pretty decent on a low Down/Up speed.

My internet speed: Between 7 mbps and 7.6 mpbs DOWN (7.3 Average) 0.641 mbps UP (or 641 kbps, whatever you prefere)

My PC setup: OS: Windows 10 64 bit RAM: 8 GB CPU: AMD FX-4100 2.4 GHz GPU: AMD Radeon 6900 HD Series 2 GB

My Main aim is to stream Old School Runescape, and IDK if it would be possible, but If i can also a faster paced game like Shadow of Mordor.

I have been following multiple video's in a row and most settings have been the same in each video, yet (of course) I had to change it up. I have not tried anything yet because I am still bussy, but I have my current settings like this:

  • 500 kb/s max bitrate, 500 bufferrate.
  • AAC 64 bitrate, 48khz
  • Video resolution is set to my own (1920x1080) with a resolution reduction of 2.25 (852x480), with the billineair filter on 30 fps.
And in the advanced tab im getting a little confused because each person has it slightly different. So my questions are as followed:

  1. How important is "Process priority"? Some put it on high, some keep it on default.

  2. the option "Disable encoding while previewing" is by some disabled and by some enabled, does this impact performance/live stream quality by any means? Should i keep it checked or uncheck it?

  3. Scene buffering is default on 700, again, some youtubers have numbers ranging from 400 to the default. What does this do? I can't find any exact answer for this, and what would be preferable?

  4. Shall I use CFR or keep it unchecked? (I am not so sure how much it can impact my bandwith or PC performance)
I know my internet is horrible and the outcome wont be the best, but as I mentioned above, I had seen some examples from people streaming on 480p with a bitrate of 0.6mbp/s with a decent quality.

Any help is appreciated :) and be detailed as you like

Since you're only just starting out, go with OBS Studio instead. No active development is being done on OBS Classic.

Go with default settings in Studio - no need to change anything to start out. Good luck :)

If you prefer video guides this one is good in my opinion: NerdOrDie

*EDIT: Actually I didn't read your post fully. 500 kbps is too low for any sort of good quality, even on 480p. You can try it, but don't get your hopes up.

May I ask why you consider OBS Studio over the regular OBS? So far im doing quite decent with it
