Question / Help Wowza Authentication

Hi all,

I've got an issue with the custom streaming server set-up. I'm aiming it at a wowza server with authentication, putting in the right username and password etc, however when I click start streaming it stays stuck at 'connecting' and doesn't progress further. Nothing hits the wowza server and I can't see any video.

Is this a problem with the current OBS Studio, or is it something that needs enabling with the wowza service I'm using? i've a feeling it may be the latter, but hope someone with more experience can fill me in.

Any feedback will be helpful,

Cheers!

Can you try it again and let it sit trying to connect for at least 60 seconds, and then post a new log?

The point of letting it run for 60 seconds is to see if it puts some sort of timeout message in the error log.

Stop posting over and over, you're being extraordinarily impatient and all support on here is done by volunteers. The more and more annoying you are, the less likely people are to help you.

i waited 60 seconds this time and i checked the log myself

and the log does not show any timeout message on it

and can you guys send me the OBS MP 0.11.0 install file please

0.11.0 had a number of breaking bugs which necessitated the release of the 0.11.1 hotfix. If you want to use an older version of OBS, the next older version to try is 0.10.1, though I'm fairly sure that version didn't have FMS authentication available.

After looking at the build logs, it appears that this is a bug that happens when you enter a blank stream key and should be fixed in 0.11.2. The bug is still present in 0.11.0 to my knowledge, but you can try it yourself here: http://jenkins.catchexception.org/job/obs-studio-stable/52/artifact/release/OBS-MP-0.11.0-Win.zip

Are you not entering a stream key?

Hi, just wanted to say thanks for the update. I've installed the new update and successfully got beyond 'connecting' and have got a stream.

I'm not sure if it's mentioned anywhere but worth making a note of, if using a platform where the stream key is _%i (for multi-bitrate), you'll need to change it to _1 (or_2 etc respectively to which bitrate) for you to see it, exactly like what you do in Wirecast. Different from the issue originally mentioned, but was able to determine this after authentication was solved. If you keep it as _%i, OBS will say it's streaming, but the platform won't pick it up.

Cheers!
