Hi there, I'm new to OBS and video recording in general. I've recorded some videos of me playing video games recently. The audio is spot on. However, I found the actual footage to be a little grainy/dark at times and was hoping that some of you more experienced with the program could give me some advice on what settings to tinker with. I've linked my log file to the post to give you an idea of what I'm working with. Please let me know if you require any more information. I'd greatly appreciate any help and advice. Thanks a bunch :)

For the "dark" aspect of the video, the color space you're using is "full". That means blacks are actually recorded as blacks, and it's up to whatever video playback program to display the colors accurately to the monitor you're using in order to display the full range of colors. If this isn't working well, you can chose "partial" for your color space, which will adjust the output range to prevent using the lower range of brightness.

For the grainy aspect, I'm guessing you're talking about artifacting in the recording. The logs show you're using a constant-quality mode to record, specifically CRF=23. You can lower this number to increase the quality, at the expense of a higher resulting bitrate.
