The only thing I changed since yesterday was installing virtual cables on my streaming pc. I opened up obs, made some hotkeys to mute and unmute the main mic, but realized my mic wasnt going through obs at all. I closed and reset the program. I went into windows settings and unchecked the microphone outputs "allow programs to take exclusive control." Which was a solution for the same problem in previous threads. I also didn't have any hotkey for push to mute prior as I seen as another solution to this problem. I double checked that my voice meeter software was installed correctly and it was, same with the output in obs which has always worked till today. *Updated obs and streamelements yesterday. It was working fine. I used obs studio only thinking maybe it was a stream elements problem, still no solution.

With more tinkering, I found it was windows the whole time. Although I had selected the default devices correctly, it wasn't registering. So I used windows troubleshoot on the output source, my microphone. It then said I DIDN'T have the device selected as default, and that it was fixed.
