WIndows or Linux for low end cpu

I have a lower end cpu running Linux and I can stream online video well, but when recording it is a not quite as smooth as I need even after changing the setting to undistinguishable quality. Is lossless quality really a huge file size if I would try that? Would I possibly get better performance using Windows instead?

And to add it only needs to run about 50% cpu when it is recording and I believe the ram usage was not particularly high, so maybe that points to some other area that is the problem.

When I say problem I just mean it is not quite what I would like and not disparaging obs or the hardware. I am trying to record some nfl talk shows from streams that have some hightlights in them. And those don't really have to be perfectly smooth. But if the heads talking seem smooth and normal that is the main thing. When the action is not smooth then other parts of the video seem kind of off. This is a Zotac zbox CI329 with a celeron N4100 cpu. 4gb of 2400 ddr4 ram. Linux Mint Cinnamon, but I have the effects turned off. Here is the log for the last recording session. https://obsproject.com/logs/wAqtgeVRgI_M4JDb

Got an idea to try a different browser to lower gpu and I tried chrome. I did a test on a boxing round. Quite a bit of movement an I am pretty sure that recording was better and may be just fine for what I will really use it for. I can test that all this coming week to see. Here is the log from the chrome test. https://obsproject.com/logs/FUvUM3hh1xUKpAgv
