Question / Help Windows Movie Maker

I dont have the money for Editing software but whenever I open a recording file in Movie Maker, It just shows 7 secods of Black Screen, but when Im recording, it shows my screen and my game, just not after I record it, any help/ideas?

1. check your recordings in VLC
2. make sure they're in a format that Movie Maker can understand
