Windows 11: unable to record PC audio with speakers muted

Dear all,

I have 2 computers: in the first one I regularly attend a Teams meeting, and the second one is used to register it. I cannot install OBS on the first computer, and I cannot use the Microsoft Teams recording option.

With Windows 10, I used to set the OBS studio recording on the second one (with MIC disabled), mute the speakers on it and attend/speak on the first computer.
The meeting would have been recorded fine even with speakers muted.

In Windows 11, I can no longer record the PC audio if speakers are muted. It does not record any audio.

Why does this happen if with Windows 10 it was working fine?

That should work just fine however in the settings you must ensure each source is set properly. for now forget recording... just fire up OBS and Teams... do you see your team call register on the meter and conversation takes place? That is the issue to fix... fix that it it will record just fine. This is a sorce / track issue.

Yes, I see the call is being registered, but if I mute the speakers no audio is registered, while in Windows 10 it was recording the audio also with speakers muted... Now as an audio source I only have "speakers"

Could you provide some details of how you fixed it, what the mistake was, etc? Might help others who may have similar or related issues. Thank you :)
