Dear members,

Today I started experrimenting with OBS. My plan is to record and stream chessvideos on Youtube. So far I really like it.

I have 2 questions:

- To be able to see myself when I look in the webcam I would like to put the 'Windowed projector (source)' right under my webcam. Unfortunately when I do that the preview is also recorded. Is there a way to see it myself, but make it invisible on the recording and with that for the audience? :)

- My second question is related to uploading on Youtube. I would like to add some Spinning Record to the videos to make it a bit more playful. But how does this work related to copyrights? Anyone tips/advices?

Best,

Maxim

Question 1) It sounds like you're doing a display capture which show everything on your screen. You'll actually want to use Window Capture instead. As you can see in the picture below, I've window captured Chrome and even though OBS is in front of it, OBS does not show up in the preview.

Question 2) This probably isn't the best place to ask about music copyright, but I'll tell you now, Spinning Records is not free to use. If you put their songs in your videos, they'll most likely get demonetized. Of course, if making money isn't your goal on making these videos then there is no problem but if you do want to go the money route, you'll either need to pay for licencing (which is not cheap) or find copyright free music. There are a lot of places like MonsterCat or Chillhop Music that will let you use their songs for free as long as you follow their directions (which is typically just putting song credits in the video description)
