Question / Help Window Capture?

So I have been using OBS for a year now and the only thing that isn't and hasn't ever worked is the Window and Display Capture... I don't know why this happens... Game Capture is perfect... but when I run a window capture all I can see is my mouse on OBS when I move my mouse onto the screen with the app I'm trying to capture. And the Display Capture just doesn't work at all.... I saw on another thread that Aero has to be enabled to use Window Capture... but What is Aero? And will we ever know?

Laptop with switchable graphics? Look there - Laptop? Black screen when capturing? Read here first.

Edit:
Aero is part of the Windows. Here, on the forum, when people talk about Aero - usually means, that you running win7 where this option was switchable (in win8...win10 it always ON) and by enabling it - new method to render program windows together with new theme were enabled. This method (desktop composition mainly) uses hardware acceleration - thus renders slightly different.
In win8...win10 it's no longer experimental option, it's fast, slightly improved, thus it is always ON by Microsoft.
