Window capture freezing when alt tab

Hello, I'm using window capture to record video from a window in firefox while alt tabbing and clicking on other things. It seems every time I open a folder on my pc, use another internet browser, or click outside the window I'm recording, it freezes. It only starts playing again when I click back into the window I want to record.

I hope this is clear. I never changed my settings. When this started happening, I reinstalled obs, but it didn't help. Any help appreciated.

Firefox stops rendering if it detects that it is in background and no part of its window is visible on the desktop. This is a power saving feature of Firefox. Chrome behaves the same, as far as I know.

Hmmmm interesting. Is there any work around for this?

I never had this problem before. It does the same with recording a skype window. Is this a new update? It makes obs useless to me. Whenever I alt tab, whatever I'm recording just pauses.

Isn't OBS.
Don't minimize the window your recording and you're fine.

Thanks for the reply. Is there any program where I can record a window and alt tab? I've even noticed I can have 2 firefox windows open and it still freezes when I switch between them.

You need to give permissions in Firefox. Firefox help is your friend.
Isn't OBS, is how Firefox (and other browsers) behaves.
