tl;dr Game Capture works. Display Capture works. Window Capture works, but Window Capture does NOT work when I pick this specific game that I wish to broadcast.
Hey guys.
I've been streaming Clone Hero (the new Guitar Hero) and I have specifically been using Window Capture on top of my webcam so I could cut in bits and pieces of the game and fit them however I like.
I realize Window Capture is not intended for full-screen games, which is why I have Clone Hero running as windowed and I have added this little piece of text to the "Target" in Properties -
-popupwindow -screen-width 1920 -screen-height 1080
Three days ago I encountered a problem: when I want to open Clone Hero through Window Capture, it will freeze after showing the first frame. The first frame could be the option display that opens up before the game itself launches. Or perhaps I have the active game running when opening the Window Capture and voilá, I can see I'm in the menu of the game, but nothing moves from there.
I do have the possibility of just broadcasting the game through a Game Capture or Display Capture - but my overlay will not get nearly as smooth and good-looking then.
Through online helpers I have encountered several of them speaking about utilizing integrated graphics instead of the main gpu - unfortunately I cannot find that option anywhere on my PC. Not in the OBS settings, not in the NVIDIA settings or nowhere. There might be something there, but I'm unsure.
NB: This Window Capture way of streaming Clone Hero DID work earlier.
Trivia:
- I have tried deleting all sources and scenes and starting over.
- I have tried deleting OBS (including temporary appdata and settings) and re-installing it.
- I have tried running as administrator.
- I have had my PC restarted.
- I did try to launch the game without the "popupwindow" text added.
