Hello,

I`m new here and for the first time I´m OBS on Linux. THe problem I have is, that I can´t record my desktop/monitor, which I intend to record it (I have a Dual Monitor). It always recorded my sound without a picutre. Only a black screen.

My specs are:
Manjaro 16.08 64-Bit
Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU E3-1230 v3 @ 3.30GHz
AMD R380X from Sapphire

Can anyone help me?

which graphics drivers are you using? cause i know for xcomposite capture with mesa drivers you have to make sure the box that says mesa workaround is checked

I also have this issue using Manjaro. I'm trying to spice up my stream by showcasing some of the programs I've created. Terminal output just shows a black screen though and this disables me from making a really creative layout.

The window capture does work with games though.

I will do some testing and produce one or more log files for when it works with a game and when it does not work correctly with a terminal or other program.

Hi guys!
OBS is a lovely software! I have used it on Ubuntu 16.04.3. There it worked flawlessly.
On Manjaro I am having serious issues with both window and screen recording.... I have tried it with different desktop environments, but I am having the same issue everywhere: torn screen (as you can see it on the attached screenshot).
If I tick the "use alpha-less texture format", it gives a black screen.

With "video-vesa" installed, I managed to capture the desktop, when I enabled "use alpha-less texture format", but even there I couldn't get real-time update from the windows I wanted to record.

(I am having a built in Intel HD graphic card)

Do you have any ideas what the problem might be?

Thanks for the advice!
I did, what you told me, but unfortunatelly it didn't solve my problem.
I can do screen recording, but I am unable to do window recording. I am still geting "torn screen".
I've attached a small recorded video, so you have an Idea, what I am talking about.

Any suggestions?

Interesting. The video reminds me of another case here where the WM/Composition options might have played some part on this. This is not a bug on obs that i'm aware off so i can't help much past recomend trying another DE/WM and using latest xserver and mesa drivers.

I have tried it with different window managers: LXDE, XFCE, GNOME etc. But it didn't work with either of them. As I mentioned earlier, it works well on Ubuntu 16.04 on the same machine.
So it must have something to do with Manjaro or Arch...
Ia haven't got the slightest clue, what the problem might be.
