Question / Help Widescreen recording?

Hello! I'm new to OBS and new to recording in general.

I'm trying to capture (not stream) my main display which is 3x 1920x1080 resolution combined under nVidia Surround for a bezel-corrected resolution of 5896x1080. I'm trying to capture at Indistinguishable Quality, MP4, and Software Encoder but the resulting video is very choppy. I can change the encoder to the "low CPU usage preset" option and while it is smoother, there are still stutters in the video. I am capturing the game via Game Capture on the "Capture any fullscreen application" settings with Capture Cursor and Anti Cheat ticked.

Performance is slightly better when using Display Capture with Capture Cursor ticked and "low CPU usage preset" used, but there is a stutter in the video every 3-5 seconds.

Using QSV encoder causes the program to crash and using NVENC will not start/stop recording using the hotkey. I've included a log file from my last crash (tried to use QSV) if that is of any use.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks!

NVENC recording: update drivers to last one. Previous had a bug and NVENC failed to start.

I'm not sure what you're looking for but I can make another recording attempt if you'd give me the settings you'd like me to use.

This is one from last night...

Yes, well, at least the simple one. Like I said, I'm new and didn't really want to delve into the advanced stuff for now. I guess I'll have to do the advanced bit then.

Also, regarding NVENC:
Using QSV encoder causes the program to crash and using NVENC will not start/stop recording using the hotkey.

By the way, 3x1920 = 5760p not 5896
my main display which is 3x 1920x1080 resolution combined under nVidia Surround for a bezel-corrected resolution of 5896x1080.
:D

I've tried your x264 advanced settings and at "very fast" settings, I was getting a 50% fps loss but the resulting video was better than before. I upped the setting to "ultrafast" and only lost about 10-15 fps from a baseline of 60 fps so gameplay remained smooth and the video result was the best so far. However, I'm getting 327MB filesize for a 1 minute, 25 second video... I guess I shouldn't complain at 5896x1080 resolution! The above was done with Display Capture as Source.

Are there any other things I may try to improve the results even more?
