Why won't my media stop playing while I'm trying to set up my scenes?

I am trying to set up a really simple online event. Six original short plays that have been prerecorded and edited - MP4 files. I will be MCing in between live, introducing and asking for donations. I am able to upload the media into OBS, but the scenes just keep playing. What button am I missing? Also, as you can probably tell, I am really a newbie to all of this. Does anyone know of a simple, direct, step by step guide for a live event like this. I will not need a bunch of graphics or marketing type stuff. Just want to show a few videos and talk in between.

How are you playing the files Media Source, VLC Source, etc
There should be a play or restart playing with (scene) is active setting on the source object in the scene
