Question / Help Why is OBS Lagging me?

Hello everyone!

I am a Youtube Streaming that has been using OBS for about a year now. I have never had a problem until now.
When I mean lag I do not mean the lag you get from the internet I refer to the lag you obtain in the game.

The problem seems to only arrive when I have obs switch scenes to the game I am running. This also seemed to start happening after I updated my pc, running windows 10. I also know it isn't my specs, for this is my specs. https://pcpartpicker.com/list/zxpLPs

I honestly don't know what to do, I stream every day and this is making it impossible to start streaming. Any help will be much appreciated! Please!

Could you please attempt a recording/streaming session for a few minutes, doing what you normally do in-game and upload the logfile that contains that recording/streaming attempt.

You should leave multi-adapter unchecked/off, it forces OBS to use shared memory capture instead of direct hook, which adds more overhead on the amount of resources used.

The logfile you uploaded has no recording/streaming attempt inside it.

If you don't, cap your fps to 60 (61-63 if you have issues with screen-tearing, this can help alleviate it)

I don't play Minecraft, does it do it with the base game or any other mod packs apart from Skyblock2? Perhaps an issue with the mod pack itself if only that variant of the game.
You could try doing a re-install of Minecraft and the mod packs to ensure that you don't have any left-over files from previous installations of updated mods.

Can you do a few minutes' worth of streaming please, as you said you were a streamer and it only showed a very short recording session in your logfile. Streaming puts a bit more strain on resources than just recording, dependent upon settings.

Although the problem seemed to have died down since I disabled Windows DVR. It hasn't been what I was capable of before the fall creator's update. Here is my log: https://gist.github.com/dd4729301b44b8044aa03886c7791b3c

Also I don't have any screen tearing, As for mods, I usually stream on an old school survival. Which require no mods at all.

01:00:48.671: Output 'adv_stream': Total frames output: 254318
01:00:48.671: Output 'adv_stream': Total drawn frames: 253765 (254349 attempted)
01:00:48.671: Output 'adv_stream': Number of lagged frames due to rendering lag/stalls: 584 (0.2%)

While it is a very very low amount, you are still dropping frames every so often, good news is you don't have any bandwidth issues, so could actually push your bitrate a bit higher whilst streaming if you want...

If you don't cap your fps, doing so should solve the issue, if you already do then maybe lower your graphics settings in-game a slight amount.

Perhaps the fall creators update has put more strain on system-wide resources, I'm not sure though as I just recently upgraded my CPU, mobo & RAM then did the update once I dialed in clocks and all other updates, which in turn only had me seeing improved performance in everything I use my PC for...
