I used to put all the videos i want to show on the same scene. I often had multiple videos playing at once on the same screen. My cpu usage used to be around 13% before the last 2 updates and it skyrocketed to using around 20% constantly for the same thing and then with the last update it went up to around 25%. This is for the same exact set up i had before. I thought that maybe it was just windows finally reporting the actual cpu usage but I think obs is actually using more cpu resources than it used to. Often times the cpu will ramp up to 100% usage and usually me just making it play the next video will make it go back to normal.
I read that putting the videos in separate scenes would help this so I did that. It actually did not change a thing. If anything it made it worse by keeping it constantly at around 23% no matter what i do. A modern cpu/gpu shouldnt need this much resources to decode a video. I think maybe the rendering drivers need to have a look at. In the meantime Im going to look for diff broadcasting software that can do this better. Ive been doing this for years and i know what Im doing, im just being held back by the software. Maybe its time to get paid software that does this better. OBS is great but yeah....
no need to send a log file cuz now that ive switched to having vids in diff scenes nobody will have a solution which has always been the solution given whenever i brought this up.
Oh and btw, obs seems to start to get all uptight if you have more than 7 scenes.
