WHY does Game Capture NEED online?

I'm trying to make some OUTDOOR Let's Play videos, WITHOUT an Internet connection.

Inside, OBS game capture works fine. I took it to location, suddenly doesn't work. WTH????

I had to use Display Capture and thankfully it worked, but only after I wasted tons of battery time trying to fix it.

WHY OH WHY does GAME CAPTURE need online??? STEAM is working offline... WHY can't OBS??

As I already said, it works FINE in the house with strong Internet. Took it to location with no Internet & the EXACT SAME PROCESS doesn't work.

Explanation?

Probably more related to being used with just battery. If you don't force the GPU, it's picked pretty much by random.

Ugh. So why would battery affect "Game Capture," but I can still use "Display Capture?"

I did follow those directions and force it to the GPU, but haven't tested it on battery yet.

If I go forward with my videos using Display Capture, are there any inherent issues/disadvantages compared to Game Capture?

Laptops are trying to save battery by making softwares run on integrated GPU. If a game is running on dedicated GPU and OBS on integrated, game capture hook won't work,

Display capture has a bit lower performance than game capture and you can't capture games running on dedicated GPU with it.
