Why do my recordings sometimes get corrupted and sometimes not?

Sometime my videos end up corrupted, any reason why? I'm using MKV and remux MP4 output settings, logitech c920 and windows 10,i3 12100 desktop, no graphic card, this is for recording, not streaming.

The video shows as "no media" in davinci on corrupted sections of the clip, I also tried to open the video in VLC and Windows media player and indeed, it's pixelated and corrupted. Not as dramatic is image below, but that kind of issue, blurred and broken.

This happens quite often, maybe 10% of the time Any idea what could be doing this?

Is MKV corrupted, or only the remuxed MP4s? any error messages when remuxing?
is this to a SSD, or HDD? Any other large files written to same drive, and are those NOT having an issue (drive failure)?
Any Windows Event Log messages associated with drive writes?

Are you using QuickSync for encoding, or a direct CPU based encoder (x.264)? one possibility (amongst many) is that you are overwhelming that i3 CPU and getting encoding lag (would be noted as such on OBS Studio log)
