Why can't OBS recognize the Blackmagic H.264 Pro Recorder?

Why can't OBS recognize the Blackmagic H.264 Pro Recorder when I want to add it as my source. It does not work when I want to add the Blackmagic Device or Video Capture Device. It appears fine in Blackmagic Media Express.
Hope someone can help me.

I have one of those, bought it BEFORE OBS was even a thing. It's a standalone encoder & as you have found out, does not work with OBS.

I still have all the recordings I did with that encoder archived on my NAS. I used that device from June 2011 until June 2014. Some of them are really good too. Switched to an Epiphan frame grabber for about 6 months & then just OBS Multi-platform aka Classic after that.
