Bug Report Why are OBS Studio Delay filters so inconsistent?

When setting a Delay for a webcam and audio I've noticed wildly different results between extremely slight adjustments. Even altering the speed of inputing digits to adjust the delay ms alters the end result.

Syncing video and audio signals is incredibly tedious and often extremely random
The best possible method for tweaking involves copy pasting values testing results and repeating. And even after everything has been synced, a reboot of OBS is liable to throw everything out of wack again.

This needs to be fixed.

Also, Filters and audio levels NEED to be saved with scene settings. As someone who frequently switches between console and PC games, Frequently adjusting these random filter values is extremely frustrating.

The filters aren't inconsistent. If you set a 250ms delay on your mic (for example), it will be delayed by exactly 250ms. If the sync keeps changing, then that is usually a problem with the device you are trying to sync.
Stuff like USB overload will influence that.

Also filters and volume levels are saved in the scene collection.

And you should probably also post a logfile from when you had these problems.
