Question / Help Why are my files corrupted and how do i fix it

K so I been using obs for a while and couple days ago I opened windows movie maker and now when I record the vids are corrupted and says theres no video here and I changed how to open with it and all of them say it i redowloaded it like 9 times how do i reset where the video go.

Why are you relying on windows movie maker?
Also, if you're saving to mp4, you're saving to an unreliable format.

no on obs i edited my vids on movie maker now it messed wit hmy vid and it saves to movie maker and courrpted it and i need to know how to reset that so it jut says to obs

ya it does I used moviemaker for editing and it started to make the vids and automatically do that and the corrupted the file how do I reset the file where it is for obs

Check your files with VLC or another media player that doesn't come with Windows.

Windows movie maker relies on the same parts of windows as windows media player for its media format support.
Windows media player has a 15+ year history of BAD media format support.
Use a good media player like VLC or Kodi to check your recordings.
