Why am I able to see through myself when I run my green screen backgrounds?

I am pretty new to this. When I run my green screen with chroma key I begin to become slightly transparent. I've messed with about every setting I can and also looked up YouTube videos, but nothing seems to speak on what i need. Does anyone know what setting I need to adjust? Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks, my friends.

Are you green? ;-)

That may seem like a silly question, but if you're getting a green cast on you, possibly from being too close to the screen, then the answer may well be "yes."
