Question / Help Whoa... Why is Display capture able to capture old fullscreen games now... like Thief? This is COOL

I'm running Windows 10.... I'm intrigued by this stuff...

can someone explain to me how this is even working now? Will this work for everyone?!

I suggest you try things out and see what works. It IS not unheard of that Display Capture effectively captures an entire monitor/display :)

Back in the day it was just common knowledge: If you try to capture gameplay of a full screen game with monitor capture, you're going to get a black screen on your output....

This is not the case anymore...

Does anyone know why?

Just tried this on both of my PC's and it works for every full screen game that i've tried so far... I would like to know the reason for this as well.
Now that I think about it... sometimes alt-tabbing in Windows 10 seems very fast, almost as if i was never actually playing full screen in the first place!

Windows 10 internally added a feature to display capture that allows it to capture fullscreen games now.

I definitely recommend trying it out if you're on windows 10 as an alternative to game capture if you wish. It makes things really easy to set up, game capture is a bit messy to set up which can be frustrating to users. The fact that they added this feature makes me quite happy. Should be quite high performance (possibly even about equivalent to game capture), though I haven't had enough testing yet.
