Which 'Source settings' in OBS with which 'action button' in Stream Deck will let me display a picture in picture image during a gaming stream?

Hope this is the right place for this kind of question. IF there's a better place I'd appreciate a link :-)

I'm having difficulty setting something up with my stream deck and OBS. I'm using the 15 key stream deck (the older model, not the recent refresh), on Win 10. OBS version 27.0.1

I stream an RPG every Wednesday on Twitch. While streaming I often have to display an image picture in picture style from a group of images of locations. I've got myself and 2 players video capture being displayed over a background.
There is also a space in the shot to display images to my players and audience. Currently if I want to display one of these images I just use a screen capture in OBS, open the file on my desktop from a group of about 300 images, and drag it into the screen cap area. It's slow, clunky, not very visually appealing, requires me to search in real time, and requires too much mouse movement.

What I want to do is to use the stream deck to press a button, and have it display a specific image in that picture in picture area. Ideally, I would be able to change the scene in OBS and have that picture be full screen and use the same button on stream deck, but that maybe hoping for too much or may need a separate solution for.

My plan is to have a folder tree in the stream deck to quickly find any of those 300 images, so each pic takes only 3 or 4 button presses on the stream deck to find. This part I already know how to do.

What I don't know is which Stream Deck action to use to open up an image which would then be displayed into the picture in picture section of the scene. AND which OBS scene/source settings to use to get that image to open/close with one button on the stream deck.

Not sure if this will help but here is a visual of where I'm trying to place pictures (in the red box)

Is this more complicated than it seems or simpler? Do I need to learn how to do a script? Is this a multi action kind of solution?

Thanks for any help, or for pointing me in the right direction!

I'd like to know as well because I want to show/hide an image on my stream by pushing a button. I could do it with Streamlabs OBS, but not OBS.
