I have a GTX670, which I believe was one of the first cards to be compatible with NVENC, so the performance isn't amazing. I have a 2 PC setup, so I preview the screen to my capture device, so I can play at 144hz with no tearing. The game performance is fine but the preview window hangs, I assume its because my card has older NVENC compatibility so it cant capture at high resolutions at a constant 60fps.
Which options in OBS change the resolution and fps of the capture? Is it the Rescale Output, Base (Canvas) Resolution, Output (Scaled) Resolution, Force Scaling (In the Game Capture Properties)? I assume the FPS output is tied to OBS since I'm not getting tearing on my Preview window that is being projected to the capture card. I have no need to actually record anything on this computer, I just want to preview it without stuttering.
I've tried giving OBS high priority, which doesn't change anything. Im running it on an i5 2500k @ 4.5ghz,Windows 10 64bit, and using the 64bit OBS exe. The processor doesn't come close to 100%, neither does the GPU usage. The capture and my monitor are set to 1080p (the capture card downscales), 144hz on my main and 60hz on the capture. The stuttering happens pretty consistently, just tiny little frame drops, its not game dependent, it will stutter the same amount for Crysis 3 as it will with Smash Bros Melee on Dolphin.
Here is my PC's Cpu-z Validator link http://valid.x86.fr/a3p6i9 the LGTV is actually my Avermedia Live Gamer Portable, it switches between edids because I run my consoles/PC through an HDMI matrix.
