Where did all my codecs go?

I remember last time I used OBS Studio I was given a big list of codecs to choose from on the recording settings. Now all I get is H.264 when using VAAPI which is the default one. I haven't changed or updated anything so I have no idea where all the codec options have gone. I'm pretty sure I was using VAAPI last time which is what I selected this time as well. The only options I have are x264 and VAAPI. Does anyone have any ideas? Am I missing something simple? The same thing has happened to me before but it seemed to fix itself.

Edit* Just to add, when I select type: custom output (ffmpeg) on the video encoder drop down there's absolutely nothing on the list, even if I check "show all codecs".

Ok I think I figured out the problem and it was something simple that I just missed. I had to change "container format" from default to something else like flv or mp4 and then I can select what codec I want to use in custom output (ffmpeg).
