Question / Help When using NVENC, getting error ''Generic error in an external library''

In internet I found out, that NVENC is better than x264, so I wanted to test it out, but stream didn't start.

What's your GeForce drivers? The latest (378.49) don't work with OBS.

This is not true for at least my machine. With a GTX 1070, the 378.49 drivers work perfectly, including recording with NVENC. The 940M card of the OP isn't supported for NVENC, though. Try using Quicksync, if you need a hardware encoder.
