when recording with Minecraft Lunar Client OBS Crashes but when I use the less popular Badlion Client OBS works just fine and can record
 
You can only record lunar client if you change the renderer to OpenGL that isn’t there. For that you must go to the command line of obs studio an type in:(Space)—allow-opengl
And then it should work. Then you go into settings>advanced>Renderer and change it to OpenGL
 
The opengl renderer causes major performance and stability issues when used. It is not recommended.

The real issue comes from lunar client's reliance on optifine.
Optifine itself breaks minecraft's rendering engine.
