when i press the "start recording" button nothing happens and it's very annoying please help me.

Either GT 640 does not support NVENC (I don´t know) OR
you are using last Nvidia driver . It has a bug and NVENC fails
Roll back to previous driver or try this hotfix

Yous GPU has to be codename GK to support NVENC

Anything that has Kepler (GTX 650 or higher), Maxwell (GTX 750/Ti and 950 or higher), or Pascal (GTX 1050 or higher) architecture should support NVENC. The GT640 is probably Fermi-based which is older and didn't have NVENC support. I did hear that one of them is a GT-based Kepler below the 650, but I would get something better instead.
